Two objects, m1 and m2 are placed on a horizontal platform which is rotating at a constant angular velocity. m1 is located at a distance R from the axis of rotation and m2 is located at a distance 2R. Compare the tangential acceleration a1 of mass m1 to the tangential acceleration a2 of m2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[a _{m1} = \frac{ v ^{2} }{ r }, a _{m2} = \frac{ v ^{2} }{ 2r }\]

if we compare the two equations we can see that m2 has half the acceleration that m1 has.
