8b +2c + 3 -4b - 5c a. 4b+7c + 3 b. 12b + 7c +3 c.4b - 3c + 3 d. 12b- 3c + 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You just need to "collect" the terms that are similar.... like get all the "b" terms added/subtracted, then all the "c" terms, and then all the number terms. If you have a hard time seeing it, try rearranging the expression to put all similar terms next to each other. Original: 8b +2c + 3 -4b - 5c Rearranged: 8b -4b +2c -5c + 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Once you rearrange it, then combine the similar terms to simplify the expression... like add the 8b and -4b to get 4b... and then continue for the "c" terms.

so its c ? 4b -3b + 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

almost :) I think you meant to type 4b - 3c + 3 (you had a "b" in the middle) But yes, it looks like answer (c) is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops yes and ok thannks for the help :)

Does it make sense? Once you see how it works, it's not too hard. Glad to help :)
