Solve 3x + 2y = -12 for y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you set x=0 then solve 3(0)+2y=-12 y=-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the problem to solve for y or find the y-intercept?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops i read it wrong sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then your answer should be an expression, not a numerical one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract 3x on both sides... what you get..???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jennaaanicoleee ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jennaaanicoleee ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=-6-3x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no you can not divide -12 by 2 separately because -12 - 3x is a complete term.. so it will be.. y = (-12-3x)/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it now??
