OpenStudy (anikate):

i need help with matrices. plz help me

OpenStudy (anikate):

4 -1 -1 5 0 13 + -9 1 = ? 6 -3 7 -8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey just add corresponding values in matrix,

OpenStudy (anikate):

how?

OpenStudy (anikate):

oh nvm i got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

great

OpenStudy (anikate):

wait how do i multiply matrices? i have an example let me just post it

OpenStudy (anikate):

2 0 3 -2 = ? -1 5 * 0 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see first thing when you want multiply 2 matrices, rows of 1st matrix should be same as coulmns of 2nd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in this case they are indeed same, so take 1st row of 1sr matrix multiply with the 1 column of the 2nd matrix

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ex: 2*3 +0*0 =6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to multiply corresponding values ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am i getting through??

OpenStudy (anikate):

uh ya can u just do that example with the whole part of matrices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now take, 1st row and 2nd column ,2*-2+0*4 = -4, then 2nd row and 1st column, -1*3 +5*0 = -3 2nd row and 2nd column, -1*-2 +5*4 =22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now product matrix will be 6 -4 -3 22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i dint, can you explain further?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@theloser please explain....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[[a~b]*[c]=ac+bd\\ ~~~~~~~~~~ [d] \] if you have more than one column \[[a~b]*[c~n]=[ac+bd~~an+bm]\\ ~~~~~~~~~~ [d~m] \]this is the basic processs
