Whats the difference between ¿Cómo eres? and ¿Cómo estas? They both mean the same right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

¿Cómo eres? and ¿Cómo estas? both translate to "How are you?" However, "Como eres?" Is mostly asking personality wise. Its like saying,"How are you?" but really you're asking "What kind of person are you?" "¿Cómo estas?" Is a direct way to say, "How are you?"
