is this a polynomial function? f(x)=8-3x if it is what is the degree also what type of polynomial function is it.

The degree is what power the x is to. In this case the x is to the power of one, but if it was x^2 it would be of degree two. Because it is of a degree one, this means it is a linear function, where as something with degree two would be a polynomial, and three would be a cubic ect.
