Choose the correct description of the graph of the inequality x = 3. Open circle on 3, shading to the left. Closed circle on 3, shading to the left. Open circle on 3, shading to the right. Closed circle on 3, shading to the right.
@Brandonperez305 @AriPotta
will it be a closed or open circle?
closed
Well the first criteria of each one is whether it is an open or a closed circle. When something is not = to something it means it cannot be a point on that dot which is an open circle. This rules out 2 and 4. The next criteria is whether it is shading on the left or right. Since it is less than 3 the shading would be on the left hand side.
right, so it's either b or d
Wait. Are you sure its closed? When its not equal to?
</= is how she writes less than or equal to
|dw:1351397938664:dw| Right, my bad.
so its shading to the left??
Yes. Because its less than. It would be on the right if it was greater than.
so its B
