I need to learn Linear algebra but i am not sure where to get started! My professor is a horrible teacher, he knows the subject but not how to teach things. I'm left fending for myself. any idea's or practice places i can go?

your textbook??? this website is usually helpful with other info http://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/Classes/LinAlg/LinAlg.aspx

Khanacademy. Enough said.

I just wrapped up the exercises on Khan Academy, and couldn't agree more.

I've been going through the Prof. Strang lectures recommended by Unkle and supplemented with notes from Paul's Online Math Notes, and I find the combination to be very helpful.

Book: Linear Algebra by David C. Lay. Start at the beginning, go slow and make sure you get an understanding. If you don't understand something, ask questions to either your teacher, other students, online, etc. Khan Academy on Youtube is great. Good luck

Ill give you a start and so here is the formal definition of linear algebra:a map from one vector space to a vector space having the same field of scalars, with the properties that the map of the sum of two vectors is the sum of the maps of the vectors and the map of a scalar times a vector equals the scalar times the map of the vector. I hope this helps! :)

^ That didn't help me at all. I know that definition. I know what all those words mean, but that doesn't help me solve linear systems or set up matrices.
