Part 1: Use complete sentences to describe a real-world scenario that could be represented by the inequality 5x + 2y >/= 45. Part 2: Choose one ordered pair that is a solution to the given inequality and explain what that ordered pair means in the context of your real-world scenario.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You could say: Part 1: I want to paint a floor of 45 m^2. For paint, I can buy big cans that will cover 5 m^2, and small cans that will cover 2 m^2 . But whatever I buy, it has to add up to minimally 45 m^2.

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i would have said, i have to seat 45 people for a party. i have tables that can seat 5 and tables that can seat 2.

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

What would part 2 be??

OpenStudy (aripotta):

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

explain what that ordered pair means in the context of your real-world scenario.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

oh ok, sorry i didn't see that

OpenStudy (aripotta):

that would mean i could use 9 tables that seat 5, and 0 tables that seat 2

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
