An unknown substance is placed in water at room temperature and it did not dissolve completely. How would you determine whether that substance has any solubility in water?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

the question states that "it did not dissolve completely" (meaning some dissolved), then it asks "how you know if it dissolved at all" .. well you kinda just told me it did. but to check if it's more soluble i would heat up the water since an increase in temperature increases solubility.
