Perform the multiplication on the 12-hour clock. 11 x (4 x 8)

I hate to say it, but I do not really know what this question means.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and either do i

OpenStudy (anonymous):

operations in base 12 I think...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sometimes clock math means knowing that when you exceed 12, you just wrap around... So 8 + 6 = 14.... oops, that should be just "2" and so on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what I think too but the answer has to be 3,4,5,or 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 4 x 8 = 32.... 32 is 2 laps around a 12-hour clock, with remainder 8. Then 11 x 8 = 88, which is 7 laps around (7*12 = 84) with remainder 4. So the answer would be 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's makes sense thank's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It should probably work too if you just multiply it all out first, then do the clock process at the end. But I haven't tried that...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright
