An open container is made from a sheet of cardboard of size 200mm x 300mm. using simple fold, as shown in figure, Show that the Capacity C ml of the box is given by C=x(150-x)(100-x)/250

Volume (or Capacity) of C is: \[ C = V = l \times w \times h\] We know that one of the sides, say w, is: \[ w = (300 - 2x) \] We know another side is: \[ l = (200-2x) \] And another side is: \[ h = x \] Therefore: \[ C = x(200-2x)(300-2x) \] I have no clue where the divide by 250 came from. o_0

Well 250 came when converting it into ml.. \[C=\frac{4x(150-x)(100-x)}{1000}\]\[C=\frac{x(150-x)(100-x)}{250}\]
