Does darkness effect cellular respiration? I know it effects photosynthesis

Didn't think so...thanx. A question in my lab asks if the tube with the Goldfish had been placed in the dark, would the results for P/R ratio have differed?

we were doing a lab of P/R ratio with plants in water too. A goldfish was just part of it...

well then, darkness would obv affect the photosynthetic part. the P/R ratio would be different, with diminished P
