factor a trinomial 3a+21a^2+36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it cant be factored

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

unless you consider imaginary solutions. then it can be. otherwise theres no real solutions and thus no real factors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the solutions are a = (1/14) (-1(+/-)i sqrt(335))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 (7 a^2+a+12)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i forgot about that.. for some reason i overlooked the fact that factoring doesnt always mean seperating into factors...forgot that pulling out numerical factors is also considered factoring
