Starting week 3 of the Mechanical MOOC Python course today! Let us know how it's going (and if the storm on the US east coast is impacting you)!
Finished with week 2 (except the 2nd optional exercise, which is still beyond me) and looking forward to week 3 while I set up my server again and RAID1 ☺
Luckily I am no where near the storm in the US. Hopefully it won't cause to many problems. Loving the course. Started week 3 last night by reading the required chapters. Tonight is the lectures and then on to the fun stuff.
still got a bit to do on week 2...
I'm working my way through the week 3 stuff, about halfway done with the MIT open course exercises - so far so good.
Still going smoothly this week; the hardest part of the NIM exercise was when I wanted to make the program speak proper English (distinguish between singular and plural for "is/are", "stone/stones", etc): that required an extra two-argument function which was nearly as long in code as the NIM game itself!
Week 3 finished!
I've watched the videos , the recitation is great. Worked through Codeacademy , read the book. I ' m going the work through the exercises tomorrow, I think I now understand the def statement.
Excellent. Glad to hear it. :-)
Just curious Peterdb, but what did you do on Codecademy? Did you do revision?
I worked thru unit 4 , trying to learn as I did it, but not sure why it worked when it did, but it's a way of finding out what I stlill need to learn for this week.
I’ll probably be late and probably not the only one in my group. We’ll somehow coordinate to collaboratively keep each other up to date enough to stay on track.
