you might just be able to think about this one like a riddle... what number multiplied by itself is equal to that same number times 2? What level math is this? Are you supposed to solve it as an equation?

Ok, so the left side is x^2 "x squared". So subtract 2x from both sides to move that term from the right to the left. x^2 - 2x = 0 Then you can factor the left side.

Factored, it becomes: x(x-2) = 0 So x can equal 0 or x can equal 2. Then you always always always ;) want to check your work against the original problem... x • x = 2x For x = 0, (0)(0) = 2(0) <<<--- correct For x = 2, (2)(2) = 2(2) <<< --- correct :)
