I want to quote a scholar in my thesis, the quote I have is from a different scholar's work. I tracked down the original document however it is written in French and has yet to be translated...so how do I cite that? would it be (Winkin 1996 as quoted in Cravatte and Chabloz 2008: 240). ??

You can try Google Translate. From French to English.

so I went with OWL on this "according to Winkin in his 1996 work (Cravatte and Chabloz 2008: 240)." Thanks for the google translate idea! However google translate doesn't work when your trying to translate an entire book to get the context of the original quote:)
