–4x ≤ –12 i have the answer but do i flip the sign to the right? x is greater than or equal to 3? or x is less than or equal to 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you divided to simplify an inequality with a negative number you flip the inequality. -5 is less than 10 if you were to divide both sides by -5 without flipping the inequality 1 is less than 2 which is wrong. \[x\ge 3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so when it is dividing or multiplying i flip the sign and when i add or subtract i leave it as it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no when you multiply or divide by negative num then you flip the in equality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x>=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because you have divided by-4 on both side you flip in equality

oh okay thankyou!
