can someone teach me how to solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Area = ½*Base*Height. It's a right triangle. Base = x and Height = y. Almost done.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use area = (1/2)bh where b is the base and h is the height of the triangle From the figure, you can see that base=x and height=y=x^2 So, the area = (1/2)(x)(y) = (1/2)(x)(x^2) = (1/2)x^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is the height x^2?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Do you see how the height is 'y'?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes my bad, i was looks at another problem that had different y value lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this one has y=x^2 so the answer would be 1/2x^6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How much is x*x^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wah no no this one has x^5 -.- sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its okay :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome :-)
