please explain : Joule, Calorie
both of these are units of energy. joule is the SI unit of energy. calorie is the pre SI unit of energy.. 1 Calorie = 4.814 joules.
could you plz explain how Joule is defined
like, we defined Newton as the attraction with which earth pulls an apple of 100 grams
could you just give some practical definition for Joule, so that i understand and make sense of it plz
look!! it can be defined in many ways. like it can be defined as:- the amount of work done when a force of 1 newton is applied on a body and it displaces 1metre.
can i say, if an apple of 100grams falls from 1 meter height, then the kinetic energy of apple will be 1 Joule ?
defining something is way too easy a thing. what you have to do is just write the expression. in this case write any expression having work or energy. as WORK = FORCE * DISPLACEMENT. so, just put FORCE = 1 NEWTON DISPLACEMENT= 1metre. on putting these in the expression, what we get is your "1 Joule!!". i hope this helps you!!
ahh yes i see now , so if displancement = 2, force =1, then W = 2 Joule !!
thats correct ?
also, that 2Joule energy just manifests of Kinetic energy, right ?
ataboy! gud correct!!!!!!!!
thnk u
