-2/5x - 9 < 9/10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2/5x - 9 < 9/10 -2/5x < 9/10 + 9 x > (9/10 + 9)/(-2/5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2/5x-9<9/10 add 9 to both sides -2/5x<99/10 Divide both sides by -2/5 Two main things happen here. remember that dividing by a fraction is the same as multiplying by its recip, and that when you multiply by a negative number, it reverses inequality signs So x>(99/10)*(-5/2) Or x> -495/20 or -99/5 You answer should, unless im mistaken, x>-99/5

how about my answer @julianstanley ????

Your answer is good, just not simplified. 9/10 +9 is the same as 9/10+90/10 or 99/10, and then divided by -2/5 gets -99/5. So we have the same answer, just accomplished two different ways.
