The universality of the genetic code means that all living organisms are descended from one original organism, which is at least useful information. From a religious point of view, it could also be said that the creator god designed a successful genetic code and chose to use it universally. So, the genetic code does not actually prove or disprove evolution versus religion. But it proves the Theory of Evolution to be the best scientific explanation of life on earth.
