-4y + 17 29 Part 1: Solve the inequality above. Part 2: Describe the graph of the solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The inequality sign is missing above..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

< with a line under

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bring 17 over (29-17). Then divide both sides by (-4) DONT forget to switch the sign when you divide by a negative number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Post what you get and I'll see if it's right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you :) and the last part with switching the signs when it's negative helped me out thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got y > with a line under 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem. Trick to inequality: treat them like regular equations but just watch out for those tricky negative numbers and switching signs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perfect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yayyy :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can always check to see if you're right by plugging in a number, greater than what you got, and less than what you got, to see if the inequality is satisfied.

And a tip for when writing inequalities online: just write >= or <= and people will understand what you mean.
