-2x+5+(-x)-5=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Combine the like terms. Do you know how to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know the +5 and -5 cancel each other out but confused on how to combine the -2x and (-x). I know x is zero just can't combine those two.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, you are right, x is equal to zero, but you still can combine those two terms. -2x + (-x) = 0 -2x - x = 0 -3x = 0 Does this help?
