Open questions are questions that have been asked that you still need help on.
A closed question is a question you've asked, but no longer need help on, and once you close the question, you can ask another one. Since you're only allowed to ask one at a time.
By 'this group', Im assuming you mean the Feedback group? Have people automatically joined to it when they sign up?

Ohh I see.
Yeah, that'd be a really good idea, because new users who need help around the site dont always know where to look for help.
And, no there's not. You just kinda ask everything in this group, and its answered.
