OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do I subtract a variable from a number??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u have a problem? I can help you on that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is x-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you cant do anything with that unless you have a value for x or know what its equal to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay. thank you!

OpenStudy (dean.shyy):

If you want to subtract 2 from x, you must find out what x is. However, if you want to find out when x = 0, you move 2 to the other side of the equation given that it equals 0. So, that would be +2. When moving any variable to another side of the equation, you change the sign to its opposite.
