I'd like to know if im going to right direction with this: Elevator starts to decelerate with speed 2,2m/s and stops after 1,3m. Calculate force applied to elevator shaft wire. Elevator mass is 1300kg. a = (2,2m/s)^2/(2*1,3m) = 1,862m/s^2 T = 1300kg * 1,862m/s^2 = 2420,6N F = 1300kg * 9,81m/s^2 + 2420,6N = 15,2kN Apparently either i get 300N too low result or book is wrong
