What is the slope of the line that passes through the pair of points? (1, 7), (10, 1) A. 3/2 B. -2/3 C. -3/2 D. 2/3

Slope is the change in the rise (up/down) divided by the change in the run (left/right). so if you are given two points \[(x_1,y_1)\;and\;(x_2,y_2)\] the change in the rise is (y2-y1) and the change in the change in run is (x2-x1) so the slope is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1).
