Did I do this Geometry problem correctly? Apollo 8 was the first manned spacecraft to orbit the moon at an average altitude of 185 km above the moon's surface. Determine an equation to model a single circular orbit of the Apollo 8 command module if the radius of the Moon is 1,740 km. Let the center of the moon be at the origin. Would it be x^2+y^2=3,705,625? OR 185x^2+1740x^2=3,705,625?

If I could get an answer on this, that'd be amazing. :)

PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP ME! :(

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

the first one is correct. x^2 + y^2 = 1925^2
