Today's release was just a few more performance improvements in the backend. At this point we've dealt with every hot spot we've found, so if things are still running slow, we're going to have to start getting clever. We'll be keeping an eye out over the course of today to see if we've done enough or if more need be done.

The mobile version seems to be acting correctly now. Earlier the user listing was showing under some questions. Nothing was clickable.

@sephi I'm sad to hear that, it seems very odd. We certainly didn't introduce anything that should have frozen anyone's computer. Do you have an unusually high number of notifications or some such?

This account has very few. Brand new computer with nice specs.

Matter of fact, it froze it to the point were task manager wouldn't open and I had to shut-down my computer and restart it.

Makes me sad ;-;

I will confess that even in our worst moments, I've never known OpenStudy by itself to freeze a computer. It would freeze a browser, but never a computer. So I'd look to at least a partner in crime, if not another culprit altogether.

It wouldn't load that weird coding at the bottom left. It just said [math/xx/x] or something.

So the thing is, even if MathJax was going crazy (which has happened), a given window/tab can only use one thread, and therefore one CPU or core, of your computer. If you do have a new computer, it's basically guaranteed that you've got at least two of those, so there's no way that would have blocked your entire machine.

I was on an online game + OpenStudy.

I think it was a combination of MathJax going completely crazy, and my online game lagging.

Ok, so what happens is you pull up OpenStudy, you type in your credentials, you click login, and then nothing happens?

For Me It Says OS server not available sometimes and sometimes ^

Hmm. Yeah, that's odd. I mean, it means the server's lagging, but we've had very little indication of server lag the past few days, so it's very surprising that you'd see that issue. I'll look into it.

Yeah, I'm not surprised you were seeing it 18 days ago, but I am surprised that you've seen it the last 4-5 or so :)
