What is the locus of points that are equidistant from the sides of a triangle?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

did u understand the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's the the angular bisector of the angle between the two sides. Kemmy, I always thought the perpendicular bisectors intersect at a point (called the epicentre) which happens to be equidistant from the vertices of the scalene triangle, as opposed to being equidistant from two sides of it.
