What is the solution to r over three is equal to one over two?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ r }{ 3 }=\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }\] We would first start off by cross multiplying; \[2r=1(3)\] \[2r=3\] Now to get r alone on one side, we would divide both sides by 2; \[\frac{ 2r }{ 2 }=\frac{ 3 }{ 2 }\] \[r=\frac{ 3 }{ 2 }\] \[r=1.5\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you mean 1.6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[1.5\times2=3\] \[1.6\times2=3.2\]
