The grocery store sells a 25-ounce container of lemonade mix for $2.00. The wholesale club sells a 75-ounce container of the same lemonade mix for $6.75. a) Find the unit price for the lemonade mix at the grocery store. b) Find the unit price for the lemonade mix at the wholesale club. c) Where should you buy the lemonade mix if you want the better deal? Explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a) To find unit price you would divide the amount of ounces by the price to get the amount of ounces per dollar; \[Grocery=\frac{ 25 }{ 2 }=12.5\] So, the grocery store sells their lemonade for 12.5oz/dollar. b) \[Wholesale=\frac{ 75 }{ 6.75 }=11.11\] So, the wholesale store sells their lemonade for 11.11oz/dollar. c) You would buy your lemonade at the Wholesale store, because they sell their lemonade for 11.11 ounces per dollar, compared to the 12.5 ounces a dollar at the grocery store.
