Please help me to find out the Percentile. I have attached an statistic question! Thanks!! :)

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

from the table of standard normal probabilities, the nearest z-value with p-value of 0.14 (14%) is -1.08 then use the equation \[x=\mu +z \sigma \] to solve the IQ score x separating the lower 14% from the upper 86%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh, Thanks! let me try it!! Hold on..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't plug it in...

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

just replace mu, z, and sigma by the values 105, -1.08 and 15 respectively.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like, =105+(-1.08) 14

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

1 think sigma = 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, how you got the -1.08? i been looking on the table and I can't find it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Got it.... I remember now.... this one was the other way.

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

that would be some explaining to do. it depends on which region is shaded in the figure provided in the table of standard normal probabilities
