Finding the value of the trig function tanpi/2 without a calc?

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

tan(pi/2)=sin(pi/2) / cos(pi/2)

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

and that would be 1/0 which is undefined in mathematics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont think u can do this withou a calculator, as it is impossible to define pi as exact numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where and why did you get the sin and cos, is there a formula or something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can do this without a calc. that's my homework?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tanx = sinx / cosx u know in pi/2 , sinx = 1 and cosx = 0 1/0 which is undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you know that sinx=1 and cosx=0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

draw out the curve , or use unit circle
