I answered part A,B,and C of this physics problem but I cannot find out part D! Help! A 0.8 kg mass is moving in a circle of radius 1.3 m on a flat frictionless table at the end of a string. The speed of the mass is 4 m/s. The string routes through a hole in the center of the table and is held by you underneath the table. Part A) angular momentum is 4.16 kg m/s. Part B) Tension is 9.85 N. Part C) If the radius was cut in half, the tension is 78.8 N. Part D) How much work did you do to reduce the radius by a factor of one-half?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Work = Force x Distance

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im wondering if we can hash out an iterated integral for this; or is this a noncalculus course?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's an algebra based course

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what would the distance be in this case?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i believe the distance here would represent half the radius.since that is in the direction of the pull motion.
