3a – 4 ≤ 5 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3a≤9 a≤3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3a - 4 + 4 ≤ 5 + 4 3a ≤ 9 9/3 a = 3

It shouldn't be an equality... you do need to solve for "a" the way you showed, but the result should still be an inequality like the way the problem started.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3a - 4 + 4 ≤ 5 + 4 3a ≤ 9 3a/3 ≤ 9/3 a ≤ 3
