the perimeter of a 4 - side figure is 6. If the length of each side of each side of the figure is increased by 1 units, what is the perimeter of the new figure?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

just add 1 * 4 to perimeter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do u know its 4

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

because there are 4 sides and each of these sides is increased by 1 unit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so p= 2(l+w) 6= 2( 5 +5) cause u add 1 to the sides 6= 20 ...

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

no not really initial perimeter = 6 add 1 *4 = 4 new perimeter = 6+4 = 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oohh

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

oh - as simple as that!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty

OpenStudy (cwrw238):
