NEED HELP ASAP PLEASE ANYONE, Laughter Lesson Five: Hunt for Humor In this lesson and throughout our unit, we have analyzed how authors and other people can use humor to cause laughter, cope with difficult situations, and illuminate humanity's weaknesses. We have explored how laughter influences life and how we live it.

Assessment Instructions Now it is your turn to "hunt for humor" in real life and explore how humor works and how it influences us. Think about your own personal experiences, movies you have seen, books you have read, favorite web sites that you visit, or talk with friends and family about their experiences to identify these devices in action! Your job is to collect 9 examples of humorous devices. This assignment has three parts. Part 1: Finding Examples of Humor You may copy and paste, summarize, take a picture, or capture the actual example any way you wish. In your search, be on the lookout for the following humor devices: Verbal Irony Sarcasm Situational Irony Dramatic Irony Hyperbole Understatement Malapropism Pun Oxymoron Make sure you have selected examples that are funny. (The examples should contribute to the humor of the poem, song, commercial, etc.) Variety in Examples In your collection, you need to have examples from the following sources: one poem one newspaper or magazine article one advertisement or commercial one song one greeting card one comic strip The remaining three examples can be from any type of writing that you want—you may use other poems, articles, advertisements, songs, comic strips, and greeting cards, or you may look other places such as books, conversations, personal experiences, web sites, street signs, posters, photos, bumper stickers, movies, music videos, etc. Part 2: Explaining the Humor Part 3: Presenting Your Nine Examples of Humor Your project will be graded according to the following Rubric. Check out an Example of one item that could go in a "humor hunt." Happy hunting! Collaboration Opportunity As you learned in the Getting Started area of the course, you will have several collaboration opportunities in the segment. Every student will complete at least one collaboration component to demonstrate his or her 21st century skills. This lesson provides you with a great opportunity to create a product with other students! Creating Your Project Using what you have learned about humor, join at least one classmate to produce a creative project that will make your audience laugh out loud. For this project, you are a professional in the entertainment industry. You can choose any one of the three roles discussed below; your partner(s) should choose a different role. You will work together to create the next hilarious sitcom episode. Based on your interests and strengths, choose one of the roles. Option 1: ScreenwriterOption 2: DirectorOption 3: Storyboard Artist The screenwriter is the writer of the script for a television show. If you have a story in mind and love to paint a picture with descriptive writing, then this is the role for you. Writing a script You will be writing a script after collaborating with your partner(s). Together, you will brainstorm the story line and discuss other elements such as characters, setting, conflict, and theme. Your job is to write the script with your partner's input; your partner’s job is to direct or storyboard the film with your input. A script is a document that outlines all elements of a story, including descriptions of visual details, character behavior, and dialogue. In the entertainment industry, a completed script is used by a producer and director to tell the story visually through film.
