Ok, just 2 questions, please help! heres the first one: Triangle ABC has coordinates A(1, 4); B(3, –2); and C(4, 2). Find the coordinates of the image A'B'C' after a reflection over the x-axis. Heres the second question: Write a translation rule that maps point D(7, –3) onto point D'(2, 5). in your solution, please explain how to solve the problems.
For the first one, find the distance each point is from the x axis and put the image points the same distance away, but on the other side. Keep all the y-values of the points the same.
sorry for the wait...
*correction: I meant to say at the end, "keep all the x-values of the points the same." The y values will all change sign.
ok i have (-3,-2), (4,-2), and (1,-4)
Fine except (-3,-2) should be (3,-1)
oh ok, off by one! :D
ok so does the same theory apply to the second one?
Sorry for the delay - called away on other business. It's similar theory, yes. You look for what the changes are between the x's and the y's.
ok thank you for helping me! :D
