Find the value of 6 + (-18) + (-13) + 9. a,-14 b,-16 c,-46 d,-10

OpenStudy (phi):

I would go in order first 6 + -18 they are different signs. so first subtract the smaller from the bigger: 18-6=12 then assign the sign of the "bigger" number. 18 is really -18 so the answer is -12 now your problem is -12 + -13 + 9 can you continue? what is -12 + -13 ?

first of all remove the brackets and then simply solve it...
