CONFUSING! Each year you go fishing while on vacation. You've been told that this year the white bass weigh a mean of 1.48 kg and a standard deviation of 0.29 kg, but today you caught 9 "bass" with a mean in the top one percent of the supposed sampling distribution, so you think they might be a different species. Their mean was at least how many kg in your fish story?
I don't have the charts or the equations handy, but all they are really asking you to do is find the point out on the right end of the distribution curve where the curve is 99% to the left and 1% to the right.|dw:1351895266435:dw|
Why do they always have to word it so confusingly!? lol thank you! :)
I have no answer for why :) It's just the way they do it :) Did that help get you started?
Okay I thought that would be easy but now I'm stuck. What is the z-score that coorelates to a 1% probability?
Wait, I think I got it is it the 2.57 z-score?
how did you pick that one?
