I'm writing a story about CSI: Las Vegas and I was wondering, is the crime lab connected to the police department and coroner's office?

i think just the coroner's...not sure though. i think the police department is a completely different building

So the lab is seperate from the police department AND the corner's office or just the police department?

In that serries, they are all three physiclly seperate.  You will notice they leave the office to go to the coroner, and at times the coroner comes to their office.  Also, when Grisham was there, they showed when he went to the PD as a different building.
