lim x-->1 (x^4-1)/(x-1) =lim x-->1 (x^2 -1)(x^2 +1) / (x-1) =lim x -->1 ( x-1)(x+1)(x^2 +1) / ( x-1) =lim x ---> 1 (x+1)(x^2 +1) = (1+1)(1^2 +1) = 2 * 2 = 4

that is the first limit
