(2-5x)*(4)-(4x+3)*(-5) it's 23.. but im blanking out and can't figure out why..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it set equal to something? if its not, then you cant say its 23

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did the quotient rule and this is the numerator. it says when simplified it is 23

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

(2-5x)*(4)-(4x+3)*(-5) (2*4-5x*4) - (4x*-5 + 3*-5) (8 - 20x) - (-20x - 15) 8 - 20x + 20x + 15 I'll let you finish

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh derivative i guess that makes sense now

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

But you already have the answer, so I guess it's not much of a jump

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I figured it out, i was messing up with the negative signs. thanks!
