for now inflation is said to be better in describing the bigbang..i think the explanation for the quantum fluctuations which occured a few fraction of seconds after the bigbang could provide a better explanation of the origin of galaxies...but we should know that bigbang theory never describes about the bigbang itself rather only moments after it....we yet need the unification of general relativity and quantum mechanics to do it

Just wait for a few days - If Maya 's doomsday prediction was right we could see it (Big bang) ourselves and then..sorry I was joking to take the stress of our young generation)
