Confusing Calc q..... The sum is S and the product is a maximum.....

for two numbers x, y, let x+y=S, so y=S-x
the product is: P = xy = x(S-x) = Sx - x^2
P' = S - x^2 ---> 0 = S - x^2 ---> S = sqrt(x)
