In linear algebra, if you have Span(S1) = {(0,1,0), (1,2,3)} Span(S2)={(1,0,0),(0,0,1)} How would you find Span(S1 union S2) without knowing that it's equal to span(S1)+span(S2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

union means and so S1 and S2 what should it be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the vectors of S1 and S2 span S1+S2, u know that the union of all subset are equal to the space

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it should be (0,1,0),(1,2,3) (1,0,0),(0,0,1)? But how is Span(S1)+Span(S2) different to Span(S1) union Span(S2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the same thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would Span(S1) define a least vector space is R2?
