actually...looking at this equation, there are infinitely many answers this is true because you can pick any value for x and y and the equations will work this can be seen because the equations are the same. Multiply the second one by 2, and it turns out to be the first one. Subtract the second one from the first one, and you get 0=0, which is true for all x and y, so there are infinitely many solutions
