Cellular respiration cannot happen without oxygen. If there is no oxygen, only the glycolysis step will occur, and no ATP (energy) will be made, resulting in death. That is why humans die out in space; no oxygen is capable of being found, and cellular respiraiton cannot occur.

no, fermentation is just for photosynthesis. Cellular respiration won't happen at all and the organisms will eventually die.
